Fall Events
New Family Playdates
Wednesday July 23th 6-7pm and
Thursday August 14th 6-7pm
We are excited to welcome new families to KDM. This is for families with children starting Kindergarten or new to grades 1-4. This event is a great opportunity to meet the principal and PTO, and learn about the school and get answers to any questions you may have.
Kindergarten Orientation
Thursday August 21st 1:30-2:30pm
Welcome Kindergartners! Join us for an informative and fun Kindergarten Orientation. This event will provide an opportunity to meet the teachers, tour the classrooms, and learn more about the upcoming school year.
Sneak A Peek
Thursday August 21st 3-3:30pm
This is for all grades. Get a preview of the school year and meet your teacher!
Fall Social & Book Fair
Thursday September 11th 6:30-8pm
All are welcome to this evening event! Enjoy some treats and shop at the Scholastic Book Fair. Cash and credit cards are accepted at the book fair.

Parent Back to School Night
Wednesday September 18th 6:30pm Parents only. This is a chance to meet your student's teachers and learn more about KDM.
Mileage Club
Wednesdays beginning in September
Third and Fourth Graders prepare for the Turkey Trot by running at recess and earning foot charms. We need parent volunteers to help at
Third Grade recess ( 12:35-1:05pm) and
Fourth Grade recess (1:10-1:40pm).
You can volunteer for just one week or for the season.
Mindfulness Day
Friday September 26th This event happens during the school day. It includes activities to help students practice positive affirmations, breathing and strategies for test stress. Activities also include music therapy, pet therapy and yoga.
Color Run
Friday October 10th
Every other year the PTO hosts a Color Run Fundraiser. This event occurs during the school day and includes all students in all grades! We ask our KDM families to support the PTO by purchasing a special Color Run shirt with our amazing sponsors' logos on it. This shirt will be worn for the event and will turn into a tie-dye shirt after completing the Color Run.
KDM Cares is available for families who need assistance in purchasing the shirt. All students will have the opportunity to participate in this wonderful event.
Movie Night
Thursday October 16th 6:30pm
Doors open at 6:15pm and the movie starts promptly at 6:30. All are welcome for this evening activity! There is a suggested donation of $10 a family but is not mandatory. Light snacks and candy will be available for purchase. Students voted and we will be watching Despicable Me 4!
Trunk or Treat
Saturday October 25th 2pm - 4pm
We're excited to host our second annual Trunk or Treat at KDM! All are welcome! This is a free event for the entire East Whiteland Community. Wear your costumes and enjoy the afternoon!
$50 gift card to the best decorated trunk!
$25 to the second the third place trunks!
Free registration is only needed if you're hosting a trunk. You can give out candy or small prizes. Be creative and have fun!
Turkey Trot
Friday November 7th 2pm
This is a wonderful opportunity for our 3rd and 4th grade students to showcase the skills and knowledge they have gained while learning about running, goal setting, and overcoming challenges.
We encourage all parents to attend and cheer on our young runners as they demonstrate their hard work and dedication. It promises to be an inspiring and enjoyable afternoon!
Teacher Appreciation Dinner
Monday or Tuesday, November 25th or 26th (during conferences)
This evening is a highlight each year and shows our teachers how much we appreciate all they do.
There are 3 ways you can help:
1. SIGN UP to donate a gift card that will be raffled off to the teachers. Please drop off at the KDM office or send them in with your child in a clearly marked envelope to the attention of Kristin Weinrich Teacher Appreciation Dinner by Wednesday, November 19th.
2. SIGN UP to provide a dessert or beverage for the dinner.
3. CONTRIBUTE a monetary donation via PayPal that will be put towards the dinner.

Stock the Staff Room Teacher Cookie Exchange
Tuesday, December 16th
Help us treat our amazing teachers and staff to a winter wonderland of cookies! Items need to be dropped off at the KDM front office between the hours of 7:30am-4pm and no later than 2pm on Monday, December 15th. Please ensure that your cookies are packaged to stay fresh if dropping off prior to Monday, 12/15.
Winter Event
Bingo Night
Thursday January 22nd 6:30pm All are welcome to attend this evening event! There will be a suggested donation but it is not mandatory to attend. Light snacks will be available for purchase.
We need volunteers for the event and prize donations!
Book Swap
January 27th- 30th For all students! Bring in the books you've already read and all students have a chance to swap with schoolmates and get some new books. This event is during the school day.
PTO Meeting
Tuesday February 10th 7:00pm Learn about what the PTO does and how you can get involved.
Pencil Grams; Second Grade Service Learning Project
The second graders are selling Valentine Pencil Grams this year to raise money to support the East Whiteland Volunteer Fire Company. Your Pencil Grams will be delivered to the people of your choice attached to decorative Valentine Day pencils. You can send two pencils for $1. Cash only.
4th Grade Takeover
Friday February 20th 6:00-8:00pm For 4th Graders only. An evening activity for 4th grade students to dance, play games, watch a movie and take over the school! Pizza, snacks and water will be provided. There will be a suggested donation but there is not a mandatory cost to attend. This is an evening event for 4th Graders only.
Spring Events
Spring Book Fair
February 20th - March 2nd
A week long book fair for all students. Each class will have an opportunity to shop during their normally scheduled library day. You can send in cash or set up an electronic Scholastic account.
Family Reading Night
Thursday February 25th 6:30-7:30pm Come check out the stage performance by some of our favorite KDM teachers! The Book Fair also allows you to come with your child to purchase new books and listen to read alouds by KDM teachers.

Field Day
Friday May 8th The PTO supports KDM's Field Day events with volunteers as the entire school participates in games around the entire campus. It is always a day full of smiles, music and a lot of fun! Each year has an exciting theme and all students receive a t-shirt to wear for this special day.
Spring Fair
Friday May 15th 5:30-7:30pm This is the PTO's primary fundraising event of the year. Every year has a new twist but be sure there will be music, games, bounce activities, a silent auction, raffle baskets, food and fun!

4th Grade Celebration
Wednesday June 10th A celebration for the achievements of our 4th graders before they move to the 5/6 Center. The afternoon is for the students to enjoy games, a DJ, dancing and more! Students receive a t-shirt and yearbook. There will be a suggested donation to help off set these costs.
